Peanut butter and chocolate are the ultimate dessert combo. Banana bark features layers of banana slices, peanut butter, and chocolate, all topped with flaky sea salt and chopped nuts. It’s the perfect tasty treat to keep in the freezer, and your kids will love it.
Ingredients
- 2 bananas
- 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/3 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1 tsp coconut oil
- Flaky sea salt
- Optional – but highly suggested – chopped nuts – like almonds or peanuts
Directions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper to make it easy to remove later.
- Cut bananas into 1-inch slices and put them on a baking sheet, ensuring all the slices are touching.
- Cover with another piece of parchment paper. Using the bottom of a glass, press down on banana pieces so they become one layer.
- Add melted peanut butter over the banana layer and add to freezer for 30 minutes until hardened.
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the dark chocolate and coconut oil until it becomes smooth and glossy. Stir occasionally to ensure even melting.
- Add the melted chocolate over the top once the banana and peanut butter layers have hardened. Sprinkle with coarse sea salt and chopped nuts, and return to the freezer to harden again.
- Once solidified, break up the chocolate peanut butter banana bark into pieces. Enjoy!
