Ladies, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about gaining weight during pregnancy. Listen, weight gain is a very important part of pregnancy. If a mother doesn’t gain enough weight, there is a 50% chance of having a baby who is low birth weight – which can lead to other complications. Gaining weight when training for a bikini competition is bad, but slowly gaining while pregnant is good! You could eat super healthy during pregnancy and still gain 20-40 pounds. Don’t confuse weight gain with fat gain. An increase in body water is responsible for the largest portion of pregnancy weight gain. On another note: please ditch the mentality of “I can eat whatever I want because I’m pregnant,” then cry about how you can’t lose the weight you gained months/years down the road! Trust me….I hear it all the time?
